If a swimmer leaves the team sometime during the swim year, his or her family is obligated to pay the full Membership Fee. The Dolphins Board and/or Treasurer may make an exception to this rule, on a case-by-case basis, if the departure is for some serious, unforeseen reason, such as injury, relocation, or other significant issue. If a swimmer leaves the team midway through the season and then joins again at the beginning of the next season, his or her family could be asked to pay for the previous season before re-joining. Please note that the club does offer some additional flexibility for high school swimmers.
If a swimmer departs the team during the swim year, he or she will not be able to attend the annual banquet free of charge. In addition, the swimmer will not receive a complimentary gift, as this “reward” is based on an annual membership.
Being a member of the team does not require the swimmer to take advantage of his or her membership for the entire season, and the Hampton Dolphins Swim Club certainly has swimmers that fall into this category. Based on the number of practices offered, and even factoring in some missed practices, club swimming is a reasonable priced activity.
